During the games:

• 2,000 kitchen staff prepared 50,000 meals a day.
• 4,000 bathrooms cleaned daily.
• 1,800 housekeeping staff made the beds 396,000 times.

Olympic Village required:

• 2m litres of bottled water, 150,000 litres of milk, 110,000kg of beef, and 500,000 apples.
• 163,000 towels and 370,000 toilet rolls.
