On a day-to-day basis the Economic Development Team provides a commercial property search service, answers general enquiries and organises and administers the Maldon District Business Directory

Property Search

We are able to access the Essex Investment Office database of commercial premises and land that is available on freehold and leasehold terms. The information is supplied by many of the property agents that work in Essex. We can conduct a search and provide you with the information tailored to your needs.

Site visits

When understanding the issues and concerns of businesses we like to take the proactive approach and go out to visit businesses at their premises. This helps us to understand their issues and see how they work. We also do this when required if we get involved in planning applications for businesses. We always endevour to work closely with our Development Control Officers when dealing with any planning issues.

Advice & Guidance

We are able to give general advice and guidance and are happy to do so. We deal with a wide range of enquiries every day and look forward to hearing from you. If you require any specilaist advice we can direct you to the correct source of information.

Signposting (Links)

Acting as a 'signpost' we are in a good position to direct enquiries to the correct place. We work closely with a number of business support organisations and we aim to provide a co-ordinated service to businesses in the Maldon District. if we don't know the answer, we usually know someone who does!

Funding

Funding is a key area where businesses often seek help and support. The reality is that funding is often dependant on a number of factors including geographical location, deprivation and industry sector.

Overall the Maldon District is classified in the Indices of Deprivation as being 'fairly well off'. This makes it hard to access funding especially for businesses.
