Parks and Open Spaces
The designated open spaces within the Maldon District – the Parish playing fields and District parks – exist for the benefit of the community and serve the needs of local people and visitors in a variety of ways.
The diverse habitats – ranging from grasslands to wetlands and small woodlands – support a variety of wildlife species and complement an equally wide range of built facilities such as sports pitches, picnic grounds, formal gardens and play sites in parks that are both old and new.
