13 March - Geocaching

Danbury Park 10am - 12noon

Come and try the new high-tech treasure hunting game - the basic idea is to locate hidden containers outdoors by using a handheld GPS unit to guide you. All equipment will be supplied. Children must be a minimum of 9 years old for this event hosted by Essex County Council Park Rangers.

Please note there is a small car parking charge at Danbury Park.

20 March - Coastal Capers

Heybridge area (tbc) 10am - 12noon

Find out which animals visit our coasts during winter time, what items can be found on a beach and discover the art of beach sculptures.

10 April - Photography Workshop (Cost: £10)

Promenade Park (Maldon) 9.30am - 1pm

Daniel Bridge will be helping you make the most of your camera and see the world with new eyes! All levels catered for - just bring yourself, your camera and an adult. Suitable for 8-15 year olds.

17 April - Sense & Smell

Promenade Park (Maldon) 10am - 12noon

Identify nature by sense & smell alone. Plant flowers in the park and fragrant seeds to take home.

15 May - Meadow Mysteries

Riverside Park (Burnham-on-Crouch) 10am - 12noon

Armed with nets, pots and ID charts, we will explore nature and then re-create a miniature landscape.

19 June - Fishy Tails

Maldon District 10am - 12noon

Try your hand at fishing - learn some basic skills and get some tips from the experts.

17 July - Adventure Camping (Cost: £30 per child)

Wickham Bishops

Have fun on the high wire, caving, outdoor cooking, night walks, overnight camping and more.

14 August - Summer Party

Promenade Park (Maldon) 6.00pm - 8.30pm

Lots of fun at the splash park, games and food!

18 September - The Big Apple

Orchard Meadows (Southminster) 10am - 12noon

Discover different apple varieties, make some apple crafts and play apple games.

16 October - Hotels & Homes

Oak Tree Meadow (Heybridge) 10am - 12noon

Prepare for winter by making bug hotels and a wormery, complete a scavenger hunt and make autumn crafts.

20 November - Knots & Barges

Promenade Park (Maldon) 10am - 12noon

Learn some survival knots and have a tour around a barge. Winter treasure hunt and games!

11 December - Animal-tastic

Promenade Park (Maldon) 10am - 12noon

Make some animal clay and craft and have fun with animal games and quizzes.
