Fishing In The River Blackwater
Our river bailiff can issue commercial fishing licences for the River Blackwater. A licence is not required for fishing with a rod and line within the Blackwater or Blackwater Estuary.
Fishing bait can be obtained from a number of outlets. Bait digging is not permitted within the River Blackwater and a byelaw exists which prevents the taking of fishing bait of any type from the sea shore.
Crabbing is permitted from all suitable Council premises throughout the District. Members of the public are reminded that all children should be accompanied by an adult. Please respect the environment by taking all your litter home with you and put any crabs that you catch back into the water gently.
