Bodycare
Bodycare is a 5 week health promotion scheme run by Maldon District Council Sports Development Unit.

The scheme is ideally suited for school children in years 5 and 6.

To book a Bodycare course, you can use the e-form at the bottom of the page.

The scheme fits very well into the national curriculum, meeting most of the HRE Learning Outcomes for Key Stage 2.  These include:

ð      Safety Issues

ð      Exercise Effects

ð      Health Benefits

ð      Activity Promotion

It is also possible to link the scheme into a science programme and it aims to:

1.       Encourage children to become more active away from school.

2.       Teach children the effects of exercise and how the body changes during exercise.

3.       Teach children the benefits of exercise and an active lifestyle.

4.       Teach children the importance of a balanced diet and energy balance.

The lessons last one hour and cover a range of classroom and practical activities.

All equipment is provided by the tutor and the children will each receive two workbooks and fit tick stickers as necessary.  Maldon District Council would like to offer your school the opportunity of receiving Bodycare for ONE class within your school completely FREE OF CHARGE! How can we offer this completely FREE of charge? Essex County Council Sports Development Unit has been successful in obtaining funding from the Children's Fund. This is a great opportunity for your pupils to access this programme.  Should you wish to book Bodycare courses for additional classes within your school a cost of £70 will be chargeable directly to the school.

Bodycare has been running in Essex for several years and the feedback received from schools continues to be excellent year after year.
