'Come into Coaching'
Maldon District Council and Sports Coach UK ran a 'Come into Coaching' workshop on the 23rd January 2006 to help provide people with the necessary skills and knowledge to become a quality coach.
Participants of the workshop had the chance to find a placement within a local club of their choice and volunteer some hours. After the volunteer hours have been completed we work together on your Personal Development Plan and Training Needs Analysis.
For the people that are committed to the project we are looking to part fund for them to get a qualification in your chosen sport. For more information visit the Sports Coach UK website or Tel. 01621 854477 sports@maldon.gov.uk.

The ESCALaTE (Empowering Sports Coaches, Administrators, Leaders and Tutors in Essex) project has been developed by the Coach Development Sub Group of the Essex Sports Development Forum, who had identified a gap in provision of support for sports deliverers.
The project aims to increase the number and quality of volunteers and professionals who support others to take part in sport in Essex and has the following objectives:
- To create a unified voice for coaches, officials, leaders, tutors and administrators in Essex.
- To promote the sharing of good practice.
- To provide education and training on common issues.
- To support sports deliverers with their development through scholarship opportunities.
- To promote and enhance employment opportunities.
- To provide up to date information on local, county and national initiatives.
