Awards for All
Awards For All is a small grants scheme which enables clubs/organisations to apply for between £500 - £5000 of Lottery funding. The scheme provides primarily revenue funding for example to fund coaching or training courses, publicity materials, equipment, start up costs and volunteers expenses. Football Foundation

Foundation for Sport and the Arts
Foundation for Sports and the Arts has around £60 million annually to donate to sport and arts organisations. Grants have been given to a wide range of projects. Information, including details of the criteria for the allocation of funds, is available from 0151 2595505
National Governing Bodies
Some National Governing Bodies have their own grant schemes. It is advisable to check with the governing body for your sport to ascertain whether
(a) they offer grant aid
(b) they know of other funding sources for your sport.

National Lottery
Lottery funded capital projects range across the whole spectrum of sports facility provision, from local to international, with priority given to projects that benefit the whole community. Revenue funding is available to elite-level sportsmen and women to assist with training, coaching, travel and so on. Revenue funding applications are invariably made through the appropriate governing body for your sport.
Sports Aid
Sport Aid grant aids elite sportspeople who are of international competition calibre in their sport. Help is given for costs of training, travel and coaching incurred while preparing for competitions. The Sports Aid Charitable Trust offers grants to young people to develop their talents and to sportspeople with a disability. Sportsmatch
This is a government initiative, which aims to improve the quality and quantity of business sponsorship at the grass-roots level. Every pound put up by a new business sponsor starting from a minimum of £1,000 has the potential to be matched on an equal basis. Trusts & Foundations
Apart from those listed, there are no major charitable trusts and foundations which specifically fund sport. However, sport related applications may be considered by particular trusts or foundations if they also meet the organisation's criteria for financial aid.
OTHER SOURCES OF FUNDING
Not all sources of funding are directly related to sport, some are linked to regeneration/community development, whilst others are linked to health and education
· European Funding
There is a wide range of funding available from the European Union, these are diverse and can be awarded to projects in fields such as culture, Education and training, social affairs and transport. There are no specific schemes for sport. However funding has been awarded to vocational training schemes with a sporting element. For further information contact the Government Office in your region, the telephone number of which can be found in your local Yellow Pages.
· Rural Funding
This scheme provides grants that benefit the rural communities they emphasise upon development. Grants are available towards partnership projects, they can support sport projects if evidence proves a need, and grants can be used for specific officer posts and development funds. · New Deal
New deal is part of the Governments welfare to work strategy. It gives people the chance to develop their skills and experience to help them find work. www.newdeal.gov.uk/
· Commercial Sponsorship
There are a number of key commercial sponsorship guides, some of which may be available at your local library. Some companies may be more willing to assist with clothing and equipment or other in kind help rather than money.

National Lotteries Charities Board awards grants for capital works for village halls. The community development grant funds projects that help people to become involved in activities that improve the communities' quality of life. Although you do not need to be registered to apply, you do need a constitution showing that your group is established for charitable, philanthropic or benevolent purposes. |

Wren are the distributors of the landfill tax credit scheme. Your community has to be 10 miles from a landfill under the scheme and your project have access to the whole of the local community. Type of projects they have funded in village halls include –extensions, roofing, toilets, disabled access, interior decoration and refurbishment. They will fund up to 90% of the project. |
