The District Council owns a broad range of facilities, some operated by private contractors and others by District Council personnel.

Blackwater Leisure Centre

This facility is owned by the District Council but operated by Leisure Connection Ltd on behalf of the Council.
The centre is fully accessible to the disabled with a hearing loop at the main reception area. There are disabled toilets in each main area of the building and disabled showers in the new dry side extension.
The facility is all situated on the ground floor and the swimming pool can be accessed by a specialist hoist if required.
A large financial investment from both partners and Sport England has enabled the building of a new extension to the facility to complement the existing swimming pool.

This facility has a main sports hall and bar area, which are fully accessible. The changing facilities and the Harpers Gym have limited accessibility; however there is a disabled toilet facility.

Artificial Sports Pitch
Next to Maldon Town Football Club, Park Drive, Maldon.
This excellent outdoor all weather surface is a full size artificial pitch available to hire to football and hockey clubs for training or matches.
The pitch is marked out for full size hockey, mini-hockey and 5-a-side football.
It is a floodlit facility and changing/toilets are accessible by users.

Multi-Games Area & Sports Pitches
Promenade Park, Park Drive, Maldon.
- Tennis/Netball Courts
The District Council, in partnership with the newly formed Maldon Tennis Club, have recently invested in re-surfacing the 2 tennis courts located next to Maldon Bowls Club in Promenade Park.
This has enabled the courts to be open all year round and become a focal point for tennis in the local area.
