Essex Disabled People's Association A major part of our work continues to be the provision of information and wheelchair accessible transport, both of which are key if disabled people are to live independently in the community - our major objective. Our helpline offers information on all aspects of disability from benefits to adaptations. We publish a monthly disability newsletter, and Guide to Local Services for Disabled People, and have an extensive accessible holiday information service. EDPA operates an Essex-wide Travel Voucher Scheme funded by the lottery (Community Fund) for disabled people who are wheelchair/scooter users for outdoor mobility, on low incomes and without access to a private car. People who are both deaf and blind may also be eligible. The vouchers can be spent with 100 transport operators throughout Essex. |
