If you have concerns about the welfare of a child, please do not keep them to yourself. Essex County Council has a duty to protect children and young people, and must investigate any allegation or expression of concern. If necessary, the authority will make plans to protect the child, and this may lead to the child being added to the Essex Child Protection Register.
Essex County Council also has a duty to protect and assist care leavers, children who are a risk to themselves or to others; and children who cannot live at home with their families. More information can be found by clicking here.
