The Home Office states CCTV surveillance is particularly valuable when used as part of a wider crime reduction strategy, thus strengthening partnership with the local police. Pictures from the cameras are continuously recorded 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Police have full control of the system and monitor cameras and recordings as and when required.
