The Council provides a 24 hour support service to the emergency services.

During office hours all calls should be made to the normal switchboard number (01621 854477). The switchboard is manned from 08:30 - 17:00 Monday - Thursday, and 08:30 - 16:30 Friday.

Outside office hours urgent calls should be made to the appropriate emergency service.

Major Civil Emergency

In the event of a major emergency occurring, such as widespread flooding, severe weather conditions, major accident or terrorist attack, the Council would open the District Emergency Centre.

When manned, the telephone number for the Emergency Centre is 01621 875752. If you experience difficulty in getting through by phone we may also be contacted during an incident by internet email at emergency.planning@maldon.gov.uk.

A new website has been developed at www.maldonresilience.info, which gives specific information and advice to the local community on what to do in the event of a major civil emergency.
