Animal Licences
Authorised Council officers inspect and issue licences for certain types of animal establishments, these include riding establishments, dog breeders, animal boarding establishments, exotic, dangerous or wild animals, pet shops and zoos.

 

Diseases

Bluetongue is a viral disease affecting ruminants such as sheep, cattle and deer.  It does not affect humans, horses or dogs.  [ more ]

 

Foot and Mouth is a viral disease affecting certain types of animals such as cattle.  It does not affect humans or dogs.  [ more ]

 

Dogs

Dog fouling: designated Council officers investigate incidents of dog fouling and can issue on-the-spot fines to members of the public who allow their dog to foul in public open spaces and fail to clear it up afterwards. [ more ] Dog Control Order [ more ].

 

Noisy dogs: designated Council officers investigate complaints about dog barking and can offer advice to dog owners who have dogs which bark for prolonged periods of time and cause a nuisance to neighbours [ more ].

Stray dogs: designated Council officers are also responsible for the collection of stray dogs in the district and aim to respond to notifications of stray dogs within 1 working hour. [ more ] 

 

Reporting Dead and Missing Animals
