Pet Shops

If you sell pets, you must have a licence from the Council.

How do I get a licence?

If you would like more information on the process or to make an apply for a licence including renewal on-line, click here.

Alternatively, an application form is available in the download area which can be printed and submitted to the Council on completion.

When you apply for a licence, an authorised officer from the Council will inspect to ensure that you are complying with licence conditions (available in the download area).

The Council will issue the licence providing that you comply with the requirements of the licence conditions issued under the Pet Animals Act 1951.

Licences must be renewed on an annual basis.
