How do I apply for a licence?

If you would like more information about the application process or to apply or renew a licence on line, click here

Alternativley, there is an application form in the download area which can be printed and submitted to the Council on completion.

When you apply for the licence, an authorised officer from the Council will inspect the premises to ensure that you are complying with licence conditions (available in the download area).  A vet will also visit to assess the health and welfare of the horses (the cost of the vet is re-charged to the person running the business).

The Council will issue the licence providing that you comply with the requirements of the licence conditions issued under the Riding Establishments Acts 1964 and 1970.

Licences must be renewed on an annual basis.

A list of licensed riding establishmens in the Maldon District is available in the download area.

If you require further information or would like to make a complaint about a riding establishment, contact the Council or complete the online request form.
