Maldon District Council Environmental Statement

The District of Maldon has long been regarded as an area of natural beauty with a strong environmental identity centred around the coastal beauty of the Estuaries and the distinctive rural nature. The Maldon District Council Environmental Statement has been created to chart the Council's progress on preserving this natural beauty and to stimulate discussion on the best way forwards.

The Environmental Statement lists;

  • key areas of environmental impact
  • objectives for tackling environmental impact
  • implemented actions to reduce environmental impact
  • and future actions to maintain its progress on environmental issues.

To view the Environmental Statement in full, please click here.

The public consultation on the Environment Statement closed in December 2007. We have listened closely to what respondents have told us and this will be reflected in the Council's forthcoming Environment Strategy.

A breakdown of the results of the Environment Statement public consultation can be found by clicking here.

This Consultation results analysis was reported to the Community Services Committee on February 19th 2008. This report can be found by clicking here.
