Food Hygiene Courses

Under The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2006 food business operators must ensure that food handlers are supervised, instructed and / or trained in food hygiene matters commensurate with their work activity.

Courses

The Council currently offers a food hygiene course, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health's Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.

This involves a 1 day course of approximately 6 hours tuition and an examination. Courses are held at the Council Offices, starting at 9am and finishing by 5pm with a light lunch included. The next courses will held on:

Fee

The fee is £56 per person (where an organisation can provide written confirmation of their charitable status including the registered charity number, the fee per person will be £27).

Exam Results

Completed examinations are sent to the CIEH which notifies the Council of the results usually within 4 to 6 weeks. Certificates and notifications will then be forwarded to all candidates.

Lost Certificates

If you have lost your certificates you can obtain a copy by contacting the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health on 020 7827 5800 or 020 7928 6006. You will need to provide the date of the course and training centre details. There will be a charge for copies.
