Annual Monitoring Report

Maldon District Council is required to produce an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) every year from 2005.

The AMR monitors the period between 1st April and 31st March. The purpose of the AMR is two fold. Firstly, it monitors the preparation of the Local Development Framework against the Local Development Scheme (LDS) and the milestones contained within that scheme. Secondly, it monitors the performance of the Maldon District Local Plan policies against related local strategies and initiatives as well as Sustainability Appraisal.

The AMR follows the 'objectives-targets-indicators' approach set out by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) publication
Local Development Framework Monitoring: A Good Practice Guide (March 2005).

The guidance recognises that an authority's AMR may not be able to cover all aspects, but should meet minimum requirements as set out within the guide.

Maldon District Council has prepared AMR's in December 2005, 2006 and 2007, which can be viewed in the download area.

If you have any further questions please contact the Planning Policy team by telephoning 01621 854477, or by completing in our online Contact the Planning Policy Team e-form.
