SPD - Sadds Wharf, Maldon

Regeneration at Sadd's Wharf
Sadd’s Wharf in the Causeway area of Maldon [ see map ]represents an important waterside opportunity for regeneration. The Maldon District Replacement Local Plan 2005 allocates the site for mixed use development to include offices, housing and leisure uses. The relevant details are set out in policy E4 of the Local Plan and this can also be viewed on our web pages.

Public Participation
The consultation period for the draft Sadd's Wharf, Maldon Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) ran from March for a six week period until May. Public participation was in accordance with Regulation 17 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 and Maldon District Councils adopted Statement of Community Involvement.

Adoption
The SPD was adopted in Council in July 2007. All responses to the consultation were reported to the June 2007 Planning and Licensing Committee together with recommended amendments. A copy of these can be viewed in the download area.

The SPD may be viewed in the download area together with a sustainability appraisal (incorporating a strategic environmental assessment).
