The principal function of planning enforcement is to investigate alleged breaches of Planning Control. Details of current cases can be found in the Download Area. The Government advises planning authorities to resort to enforcement action only where necessary when there is obvious harm to the built or natural environment. If, and when, you report a potential breach of planning control, you can help us by including as much information as possible. Once a complaint has been lodged, we investigate. We keep you informed of the progress of your complaint and may ask for more information. When will investigations take place? Where an alleged breach relates to a Listed Building, Preserved Tree or Tree in a Conservation Area, a site visit will take place within 1 working day; Where an alleged breach relates to operational development, a site visit will take place within 5 working days; Where an alleged breach relates to alleged change of use, a site visit will take place within 10 working days. For full details of the process please view the document in the download area. How do I report a breach of planning control or find out more information? Telephone: 01621 875861 Important note: Please note that the Planning Enforcement team will only respond to written complaints that include your own name and address. Your complaint will be dealt with confidentially. |
