Senior Rail Cards
If you are 60 years old or over you could save a third on most rail fares throughout Britain by purchasing a senior railcard. A railcard is valid for one year and there are restrictions on travel during peak periods.
How much does a senior railcard cost?
If you are a resident of Maldon District and you buy your senior railcard from the Maldon District Tourist Information Centre, it costs just £20.50. If you buy your senior railcard at any mainline station it will cost £28.
How do I apply?
If you wish to apply, call in to the Maldon District Tourist Information Centre to complete an application form. You will need to provide confirmation of residency and age. For example a recent bank statement or utilities bill, together with a valid driving licence, passport or NHS card.
The Maldon District Tourist Information Centre can be found at: Wenlock Way , High Street, Maldon CM9 5AD.
Tel 01621 856503 and is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am until 4pm.
How do I renew my senior railcard?
You will need to complete a new application each year. You may provide your previous railcard as proof of your age, but you will require a recent bank statement or utilities bill to confirm your address.
