Green Waste Wheelie Bin Collection Service

 

This is a limited service with an annual subscription fee. Maldon District Council supplies the wheelie bins and only paid subscribers will receive collections. 

 


2010-11 Renewals

The charges for renewals for the subscription year 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011 are £39 by Direct Debit and online payments and £44 by all other methods (all Credit Card Payments will incur a further £4 surcharge).

New Customers

New customers can apply for a bin by sending their name, address and contact telephone number by email to customer.services@maldon.gov.uk or by contacting us on 01621 854477 during office hours. All new customers will also have to pay a one off fee of £20 to cover adminstration and delivery fee. You will then receive a letter advising you of the fee due, methods of payment, terms and conditions and your reference number which you will need to state when making payment. Please note delivery of new bins may take up to 21 days.

What does the scheme offer?

  • Weekly kerbside collection from your property during peak growing season (March to November)
  • Fortnightly service throughout the rest of the year (December to February)
  • Removal of garden waste to local composting facility
  • 240 litre recycling wheelie bin delivered to each registered property
  • No more trips to the Recycling Centres for Household Waste 
  • No more mess in your car

  

Collections: 
Place your wheelie bin (or green sacks) on your front boundary by 7am on the morning of collection.
Make sure your wheelie bin can be seen, do not hide it behind a wall.

  • Twigs & small bracken
  • Cut flowers
  • Windfalls
  • Grass cuttings
  • Leaves
  • Shrub prunings
    Please ensure no other items are placed in your bin.
