Blue Box Recycling Service

Collection Day:

Most properties in the Maldon District now have a weekly recyclable collection service on the same day as refuse collection. Click here for collections over a Bank Holiday. Please present your refuse no later than 7am on the day of collection or no earlier than dusk the night before.

What can I recycle?

Glass bottles and jars of any colour (please rinse)

Food and drink cans (please rinse and place lids inside)

Foil (clean)

Aerosols

Small bits of cardboard (that fit inside the box)

Yellow Pages

Christmas Wrapping Paper

What can't I recycle?

Large cardboard (can be taken to Recycling Centres)

Plastic (bottles to Recycling Centres)

Drink cartons (click here for a list of recycling banks)

Broken glass (wrap in newspaper and put in black sacks) or mirrors

Drinking glasses

Paint

Hardback books

Collection:

Please place all glass and tins in clear view of the collectors and not in smaller boxes in the recycling box. This will ensure that no unnecessary accidents occur when removing these items. Please also ensure your box is placed on the boundary by 7am and no earlier than dusk the night before.

Replacement sacks or boxes:

You can report a missing, stolen or damaged recycling box and/or lid by clicking here or contact us. If you have a clear sack collection please contact us to receive more as these are not delivered with the black sacks twice a year.

Missed collections:

Please ensure boxes are placed on the front boundary of your property by 7am on the morning of collection.

If it has been missed and is reported that morning we will collect rubbish later that day. If you report the missed collection in the afternoon we will collect the next day. Contact us.
