If you have a larger amount of waste than your standard collection can cope with then you may need to organise a trade skip or special trade waste collection.

Maldon District Council does not offer a trade waste collection service for special collections or skip hire.

Businesses can hire Hippo bags for loose refuse and rubble or hardcore. More information is available from Hippo Waste.

Special Collections

Maldon District Council's refuse and recycling contractors can remove bulky items from households that are not accepted by the standard kerbside refuse collection. There is a charge for this service and collections have to be booked in with Enterprise MRS. Bookings can be made over the telephone by telephoning 01376 504 168. Some jobs may require a quotation prior to booking.

Hippo Bags

Residents or businesses who have larger quantities of rubble or loose waste can order a collection using the Hippo Bag service. Click here for further information www.hippowaste.co.uk.

Skip providers can be found in the Yellow Pages. Please ensure you give your waste to licensed waste carriers only.

Highway skip permits

A permit is required before placing a skip on any part of the highway, eg road, pavement or verge.

The hirer/owner of the skip is required to contact Essex County Council on 0845 6037622 to obtain an application form.
