Where can I take batteries?

Recycling Centres for Household Waste can now take batteries for recycling. These include small household batteries and car batteries.

The Maldon District has two Recycling Centres: 

Park Drive, Maldon

Springfield Road,    Burnham-on-Crouch
[ see map ]

Mobile phones and cartridges

These can be recycled by Recycool to raise money for your local school. Maldon Primary School, Burnham County Primary and Maldon Primary are participating. An updated list will follow shortly. www.recycool.com

IT equipment

 

RevITalise - This is a local company specialising in refurbishing of IT equipment. It trains those with learning difficulties with the required skills. www.revitalise.org.uk

MillRace IT is a local not-for-profit computer recycling and IT training social enterprise http://www.millraceit.co.uk/. The company is based in Witham and exports refurbished IT equipment to developing countries.

Oil

This can be recycled at the Recycling Centre for Household Waste (for directions see above.)

Cooking oil can be recycled into making adhesives. Call Britannia Adhestives (01277) 810 480. Or call J C Fields (01621) 242355.
