Service Standards
The Council provides a weekly domestic refuse collection to all households and a kerbside recycling collection service to all households.

As a householder you must:

Present your rubbish and materials for recycling in a visible position at the front boundary of your property by 7.00 a.m. on the day of collection.

  • Ensure that sharp objects are adequately wrapped so as to avoid injury to the refuse collectors.
  • Follow advice provided by the Council about what can be recycled. If you are not sure what can be recycled in your black box click here. Or confused what goes in your blue box click here. Any other queries please the Waste Management Team.

Please do not:

  • Place garden waste (i.e. soil, grass cuttings) in your black sacks. (Your rubbish will not be collected if you do as our contractor is not contracted to collect it).

If your collection is missed, you should:

  • Report it to the Waste Management team
  • We will arrange for it to be collected on the day that it is reported by 12.00 noon or by the end of the following working day if reported after 12.00.
