Street Lighting
For the most part, where lighting is on county maintained (adopted) roads, the Essex County Council as the highway authority will be responsible. Street Lights

Reports/defects should be reported to the Mid Essex Area Highways Office of Essex County Council Tel: 01245 240000 (quoting the serial number on the column or bracket).

Some footway and off-road amenity lighting may be the responsibility of the local Town or Parish Council. The Area Highways Office should be able to advise on this.
