The Council prides itself on keeping the streets within the district clean and litter free. To do this we provide litter bins in public open spaces and on streets and pavements, mechanical street sweeping and litter picking in towns and along major verges.

Planting throughout the district is undertaken by Parish, Town and the District Council. Some sponsored planting (e.g. of roundabouts) is managed by the County Council.

Top 15%
This coupled with effective street cleaning services help make the Maldon District such a pleasant place to live and work. In fact, the district was rated top 15% of all local authority areas for their quality of life.
