The Local Agenda 21 strategy is Maldon District Council's vision of how it can assist the process of sustainable development within the district. The strategy deals with all aspects of sustainable development such as

• protecting the environment
• encouraging social progress
• getting our own house in order
• the prudent use of natural resources
• maintaining stable economic growth.

The strategy is now adopted Council Policy.

Local Agenda 21 covers the actions that the Council proposes to take to provide for sustainable development which include environmental, social and economic issues.

Also included is a list of initiatives that the Council has undertaken together with an action plan for the future.
