Would you like to be a member of Maldon District Citizens' Panel?
We would like to hear the views of Maldon District residents to improve how we deliver our services and better understand the needs of our customers. As a member of the Panel, you will be invited to discuss current issues affecting residents or an issue related directly to a service provided by Maldon District Council. We plan to hold up to four meetings of the Citizens’ Panel a year and will select up to twenty members of the Panel for each of these meetings. To view our online Citizens' Panel registration form click here.
Frequently Asked Questions When will the meetings be held? The meetings will be held on a weekday evening and will last for approximately 2 hours. I’d like to attend the meetings but I do not have access to transport, can you help? If you think you will have difficulties attending meetings please contact the Citizens’ Panel co-ordinator, Where will the meetings be held? The meetings will be held in different venues in different locations around the district. We will endeavour to provide venues that are fully accessible, but Citizens’ Panel members are asked to make us aware of any specific needs they may have prior to the meeting. If I become a member what am I signing up to? Members will be included on the Citizens’ Panel mailing list where from time to time we will send you a questionnaire regarding a specific Council consultation. You will also be sent invites to up to four Citizens’ Panel meetings a year, minutes of the Citizens’ Panel meetings and any updates on how the Citizens’ Panel has helped to improve Council services. We will not share your details with any third party and you can request for your details to be removed from the mailing list at any time. Why are only up to 20 members invited to the meetings? To ensure that the Citizens’ Panel can have an in depth discussion on the issues tabled, we want to make sure that the group is small enough to facilitate good quality discussion and big enough to have a wide cross-section of views at the meeting. Therefore the details you include in the form will be used to select what we feel will ensure we have this wide cross-section. Why do you need to know my age, ethnic group and whether I have a disability?
For most meetings we want to ensure that the Panel is as representative as possible of the Maldon district to gain a snap shot of what residents may think. For certain meetings we may be dealing with an issue which only concerns older people and so will select the relevant members for the details provided. |
