Unique to Maldon is the wacky Mud Race. Participants from all over the world, many in fancy dress, race across the River Blackwater at low tide in freezing temperatures.

The District offers something for everyone from the Oyster Festival to Opera in the Orchard, the Blackwater Barge Match to Shakespeare in the Park.
