Touring Artificial Ice Skating Rink comes to the Dengie Hundred Sports Centre, Burnham-on-Crouch

Maldon District Council and Leisure Connection Limited are pleased to announce the start of the three year touring programme of free artificial ice skating for children of the Maldon District.  This is funded by the Big Lottery as part of the Maldon District Childrens’ Play Strategy.

 

The first event will be at the Dengie Hundred Sports Centre from 26th to 29th August 2008.  Daily skating sessions will begin at 9.00am until 4.30pm on a first come, first served basis.

 

Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two under 8’s per adult.  Children with mobility problems are very welcome.  For further information please contact the Tourist Information Centres:

The Vice Chairman of the Community Services Committee, Cllr David Williams, said “It is a wonderful opportunity to provide free activities to the children of the District.  The free artificial ice skating programme will start in Burnham-on-Crouch and continue to roll out over the whole of the District including Maldon, Promenade Park”.

 

The Maldon District Children’s Play Strategy will also deliver new Playgrounds in Southminster and Maldon, as well as a Play Ranger Service for the Parishes.
