At the meeting of full Council held last Thursday night, Councillors agreed to the appointment of Fiona Marshall as the Council’s new Chief Executive.

Fiona has been acting in the role of Chief Executive since last October and was previously in the position of Director of Housing and Resources at the Council.

Fiona trained as an accountant and has primarily worked in a financial environment. She has extensive experience in local government having worked at both Essex County and Maldon District Councils and has also had experience in working for registered social landlords in Maldon and Chelmsford area.

On being appointed to the role, Fiona said; “I am really excited about being offered this position.  Being a resident of the Maldon District and having grown up here, I have a real interest in providing good quality services and value for money to our residents. I look forward to working alongside Members of the Council and our staff to continue to strive for improvement in everything that we do”

Councillor Mrs Penny Channer. Leader of Maldon District Council said; “I, along with my fellow Councillors, am delighted that Fiona has accepted this position and I am sure that accompanied by her team, she will continue to drive the Council forward”
