Steve Watson, Chairman of the Crime and Disorder Responsible Authorities Group and Chief Executive of Maldon District Council said “The Crime and Disorder Partnership have had an enormous impact upon the District, making it one of the safest places in the country to live. It is therefore important to regularly hold these events, both to celebrate our achievements and to lay our plans for driving down crime even further. The track record of the Partnership is on a par with the best in the country and the hard work and success of our partners deserves to be recognised.” The conference will include the launch of Maldon District Community Safety Partnership website www.maldondistrictcsp.co.uk and an award ceremony presented by High Sheriff of Essex, Mrs. S. Courage, for Community Safety Champions who will be recognised for their contribution to the partnership and their commitment to reducing crime in our District. As alcohol awareness is such an important priority to be addressed in our District, we are opening this event to the public from 6.30 p.m. – 9.00 p.m. There will be many interactive information stands and workshops including a personal view of alcoholism. We are also offering the opportunity to win Red Letter Day experiences. We would welcome as many parents and young people to attend this free event and not only learn how we can work together to promote safe, sensible and social drinking but also have an entertaining evening.
