A spokesperson for Maldon District Council has confirmed today that the Council will be taking a prosecution against Aquila Maldon Limited for the demolition of the Engine Shed.

The prosecution against Aquila Maldon Limited is being taken on the grounds that they failed to provide 6 weeks notice of an intention to demolish a building as required by Section 80 of the Building Act 1984.

The hearing has been set for Monday 18 August 2008 at Chelmsford Magistrates Court.
