Tollesbury

This large Essex Wildlife Trust reserve consists of extensive freshwater grazing marsh, brackish borrow dykes and reed beds, saltmarsh and mudflats.

The site is grazed by the Trust's own rare breed sheep and cattle to provide the right conditions for the abundant wildlife.

Tollesbury Wick Marshes is not open to the general public. However, the public footpath along the sea wall provides good views over the site.
