Commercial waste collection
We do not offer a commercial waste collection service.
It is an offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to present trade waste as domestic waste. Therefore, all businesses/organisations have a Duty of Care to separate their waste before collection and must arrange for a separate collection or heavy penalties may be charged.
Commercial waste includes any business making a profit as well as not-for-profit organisations.
If you are a business with usable items to donate such as textiles, wood, electrical items etc. please register with Essex Material Exchange and recycle your waste back into the community.
For further information on the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and the legal obligations of businesses under the Duty of Care regulations, go to http://www.hmso.gov.uk/.
Below are the contact numbers for some of the companies which operate in the area.
Refuse collection companies are able to supply a waste container to suit your needs.
Recycling centres for household waste
Businesses operating in Essex are not permitted to take trade waste to any of the civic amenity and recycling centres. These centres are not licensed to accept or dispose of any trade waste.
