Street Parties

With the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, there is a lot to celebrate in 2012! We realise that you may want to mark these occasions by organising a street party with your neighbours.

The Department of Communities and Local Government has produced a simple guide to help you plan a street party which includes an application form for you to complete.

We will accept these forms for street parties held at the following times:

  • Between Saturday 2 June 2012 - Tuesday 5 June 2012
  • Between Saturday 27 July 2012 - Sunday 16 September 2012

Before submitting your application, you will need to consider the following:

  • It is important that all residents are consulted and the majority agree to a street party. We suggest that you prepare an invitation list, asking residents to sign whether they do or do not agree to a street party. A copy of this list should be submitted with your application form
  • Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team need to be aware the event is taking place
  • It is recommended that you hold your street party during daylight hours for safety reasons
  • It is unlikely that your event will need a licence; however if you are in any doubt, please contact us

Application forms will need to be returned to Maldon District Council, Princes Road, Maldon, CM9 5DL 4 - 6 weeks before your party. There will be no charge for this service.

If you need any further help or advice, please contact us.
