Interactive Online Service

Maldon District Council has launched a new service which allows residents to become “e-citizens” and access their own council tax accounts and benefit claims over the internet.
Leader of the Council, Cllr John Archer (pictured signing up to the service with help from customer service advisors Clare Shepherd and Carol Stokes) said: “This is an excellent new service which gives our residents more control and access over their accounts. They can get secure access to their information 24 hours a day at their own convenience without having to wait for office opening hours to make a call to us”.
Once registered with the service, the customer can view an account statement or benefit claim details as well as viewing previous charge periods. There are also links to the Council’s main website to enable customers to access other services including making payments online.
Another part of the site allows anyone to search for a council tax band or a non domestic rateable value – information which can be useful to landlords, estate agents, letting agents, as well as others who need information for both personal and business use. A range of other services, including direct debit over the web, will be added in the future.
