Two Minute Silence

Maroons will be fired again this year in the District at 11am on Friday 11 November 2011 to mark the start of the Two Minute Silence.
The Chairman of the Council, Councillor Robert J S Long, will be in present when the maroon is fired from the War Memorial in Burnham-on-Crouch, and the Vice Chairman of the Council, Councillor Andrew Cain, will be present at the Hythe Quay, Maldon.
Members of the Royal British Legion, serving personnel, ex-serving personnel, cadets and members of the public will be most welcome to attend either venue.
Councillor Robert Long said; “I do hope that everyone will demonstrate their support in remembering the families of those British Servicemen and Servicewomen who have died in conflicts around the world, and help those who are injured and traumatised to return to normal civilian life.”
