Offering flexible new ways of agile working within the Council Offices based at Princes Road, Maldon, subject to business need.
Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Improvement Officer to join our thriving team here in Maldon. Your role will help us to reduce health inequalities and to improve health outcomes for all residents. You will be working across our organisation to ensure that we co-ordinate and target our activities to meet our health and wellbeing priorities, as well as working with a wide range of partners including Essex County Council and Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System.
Ideally you will be degree level educated. You must be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision. You will be required and supported to work towards the National Public Health Practitioner Accreditation Scheme.
About this role
As a Health Improvement Officer, you will play a key role in helping us to improve the health and wellbeing of our residents.
You will work collaboratively with partners and communities to address health improvements and wider determinants of health. You will link staff, partners, businesses and community groups to local community projects, assets and support, and support the delivery of health improvement initiatives.
You will be part of an Essex-wide Public Health Practitioner Network as part of ECC’s commitment to support PHP’s professional development across Essex. The group meets regularly to ensure good practice and knowledge is shared and used to “scale up” local projects and activities.
If you are not already a registered Public Health Practitioner, you will be required to work towards this accreditation and support will be given.
This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking local authority based in Maldon, an area which boasts an enviable quality of life and stunning countryside, yet within easy reach of London. We promote a professional work environment with a focus on self-development, innovation, and collaborative working.
If this interests you, we look forward to receiving your application.
In return we offer you an attractive salary package with local government benefits along with the opportunity to work in a beautiful rural district steeped in history and heritage.
