Damage deposit guarantee scheme - landlords' guide

What you need to do

If you are interested in future tenants using this scheme, please contact us. The prospective tenant also needs to speak to us so that we can take their details and verify that they are eligible for the scheme.

We will need copies of the

  • inventory which lists household items and describes their condition

  • signed tenancy agreement

  • gas and electricity safety certificates

  • energy performance certificate

We will send you a copy of the damage deposit bond and agreement. The guarantee bond is available for a maximum of 2 years after which the tenant will need to fund the damage deposit themselves.
