The ‘Polling Place’ is a building or area in which stations will be selected by the Returning Officer.
The ‘Polling Station’ is the room or building where the poll takes place.
When considering a polling place a number of factors are taken into consideration. These include location, size, availability and accessibility, however, where the criteria are not sufficiently met it may be necessary to consider designating a polling place which is located outside of the polling district.
There are several changes which are being considered as part of the review. These are to the following polling districts:
- Little Braxted;
- Mayland;
- Maldon (East)
Further information on the suggested changes can be found here
