Smoke free premises

You are not allowed to smoke in enclosed or substantially enclosed public places (for example cinemas, pubs, village halls) and workplaces (including offices, shops, factories, etc.).

You are not allowed to smoke on public transport or vehicles used for work purposes. 


There are exemptions where you may be permitted to smoke, depending on local rules

  • private dwellings
  • sleeping accommodation for guests and club members, e.g. hotels
  • other residential accommodation where you sleep, e.g. hospices and care homes 

The prescribed 'No Smoking' signs must be located in public and staff entrances.
