Neat and Tidy Scheme

This scheme is aimed towards families who are unable, for whatever reason, to regularly maintain and give the grave space of a loved one the time, effort and nurturing it deserves.

Our in house Parks Team offer an all year round service for either 12 months, 36 months or 60 months which includes seasonal bedding and planting, general maintenance and a levelling lawn service twice a year.

This service is available for full burial plots, half plots and cremated remains plots.

The initial time frame and cost, that can be agreed through the council, can be extended once the time lapses if needs be, the scheme works well over longer periods of time but the decision is left to your own personal preference.

This can give peace of mind and the feeling of being rest assured that the space that encapsulates your loved one is well looked after in your absence.

The service itself is popular, due to the demanding nature of our society, meaning people are not always able to spend as much time as they would like to tend the grave space. The service we offer means the grave space does not have to be left to nature to over develop and become unkempt.

It is our job to maintain and keep our outdoor spaces looking to the best of their ability. We take pride in all of these areas in the District, including the three cemeteries in Maldon, Heybridge and Burnham-on-Crouch. We are committed to keeping the cemeteries clean and tidy, meaning the scheme is quite popular with residents and especially non-residents to the District. Our in house Parks Team are regularly up keeping the maintenance at the cemeteries, including mowing the lawn area and, by using a brush cutter, they are able to trim and maintain the space in between the graves themselves which can be a little more intricate and cannot be achieved by using a conventional mower. However, it is up to the owner of the Exclusive Right of Burial to maintain the actual grave, this will not be touched by the Parks Team unless the Neat & Tidy scheme is in place.

The development plan for the cemeteries is carefully thought of when pruning and trimming certain areas of the cemeteries, looking after the wildlife as well as maintaining the aesthetic look of the cemeteries can be a juggling act. The Parks Team maintain a superb job of balancing the expansion of the wildlife and nature in the outdoor space whilst still maintaining a tidy and respectful place of rest.
