All staff at Maldon District Council have received training and will follow the safe working practices guidelines.
All Contractors wishing to do business with the Council must agree to comply with Maldon District Council’s Safeguarding Policy and where relevant have their own procedures and training arrangements in place. The Council has produced a guide for Contractors.
Volunteers/community groups or any group/person providing services for the Council and using the Council’s facilities are also expected to have appropriate child protection and vulnerable adult policies in place commensurate with the level of contact they have with children, young people and vulnerable adults or comply with the Council’s Safeguarding Policy. Furthermore, they must ensure that their employees or volunteers who have significant, regular or unsupervised contact with children, young people and vulnerable adults have had a satisfactory DBS check.
Maldon District Council is responsible for a wide range of licensing functions. Protecting children from harm is a licensing objective that the Council is legally obliged to consider, in particular when licensing premises under the Licensing Act 2003 or the Gambling Act 2005.
