Published on Tuesday, 14th November 2017

The Small Business Saturday campaign has chosen Maldon as one of the 27 towns/cities it is visiting as part of this year’s national bus tour and Maldon District based business Secret Hamper, as one of the top 100 businesses is being highlighted.

The bus will be based in Butt Lane Car Park from 10am - 2pm on Thursday 16 November 2017, with the opportunity for local businesses to book free business advice appointments with local business mentors by registering themselves at https://smallbusinesssaturdayuk.com/my-small-business

Cllr Penny Channer, Chairman of the Council’s Planning and Licensing Committee, said; “It is great that both the Maldon District and one of our local businesses is being highlighted and recognised by such a high profile campaign and I hope that as many businesses as possible across the District, take the opportunity to get involved and benefit from this initiative.”

Cllr Gagan Mohindra, Essex County Council’s Deputy Cabinet Member for Economic Growth said: “It’s fantastic news for local businesses that the Small Business Bus Tour will visit Maldon on Thursday, 16 November.

I encourage small businesses or those interested in setting up a small business to attend as there will be experts available to offer valuable advice and guidance.

“Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to showcase the independent businesses in our county and to support and celebrate the innovation and quality they bring to our local economy. I would also urge our communities to shop locally throughout the year but even more so on Small Business Saturday to support local traders in Essex.”
