Maldon District Council Supports Maldon Food Pantry Christmas Appeal

Published on Tuesday, 5th December 2017

Maldon Food Pantry Christmas collection point now open at the District Council Offices, Princess Road, Maldon until Friday 15 December.

Maldon District Council is proud to once again be supporting the Maldon Food Pantry  Christmas Appeal, and they are inviting local people to do the same by donating items of festive food to be distributed as food parcels to those most in need in the community.

The Council Offices in Princes Road Maldon will act as a collection point for festive food items until Friday 15 December 2017.

Cllr Henry Bass, Chairman of Maldon District Council, said: "This will be the third year that the Council has supported the Maldon Food Pantry and I am delighted that we will be helping them again this year.   I hope that the local community will join us in donating festive themed goods such as Christmas crackers, Christmas cake or pudding, mince pies, biscuits, jelly, custard, tinned ham and  any kind of chocolate or sweets".

The items donated will be handed over to Maldon Food Pantry where dedicated volunteers make up food parcels which are distributed to local people every week. These extra treats will be given as a seasonal bonus to people in need in our community.

If you would like to donate any food items please bring them to Maldon District Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon, CM9 5DL by Friday 15 December. The offices are open Monday to Thursday 8.30am until 5pm and Fridays 8.30am until 4.30pm.
