Let’s Talk about Essex Dementia Day 2018

19 January 2018 is Essex Dementia Day, encouraging people to talk about Dementia and to help build dementia friendly communities across Essex and Maldon District.
The Council’s Community Safety Team are supporting the pan-Essex Dementia Action Alliance and will be at the Blackwater Leisure Centre from 10-1pm on Friday 19th January offering advice and raising awareness of local services.
Cllr Bob Boyce MBE, Chairman of Community Services said ‘I am pleased the Council is supporting Essex Dementia Day, it is important more people are aware of the effects of this condition and communities do what they can to support people with Dementia. There are over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, and over 20,000 in Essex. It costs the UK economy £26.3billion a year and has a huge impact on the lives of people living with it and those caring for them.
The message of the pan-Essex Dementia Action Alliance Essex Dementia Day is “Let’s Talk” about Dementia.
